It’s Tax Time… Again

April 1, 2018

Here we are again with April 15 (or 17 this year) quickly closing in on us. Are you clamoring to find receipts? How about digging for confirmation emails of charitable gifts made last year? Re-setting passwords to online financial accounts that you haven’t logged into all year to obtain tax forms?

If you had been tracking income and expenses throughout the year in a Personal Financial Management software such as Quicken, then you wouldn’t be answering “yes” to the questions above. Staying on top of your financial accounts (checking, savings, student loans, investment, etc.) on a monthly basis can save you a HUGE headache come April. Not to mention, if you’re self-employed or have a home office, then you might be able to write-off a portion of your rent/mortgage and utilities. With a PFM software, all of that information is at your fingertips and reports can be generated for your accountant within minutes.
