I Didn’t Sign Up for This!

Ever signed up for a free trial and forgotten to cancel it? Next thing you know, your credit card is being charged month after month for an app you’ve never even used? Well, that’s precisely what these companies are hoping will happen. We’ve been guilty of it ourselves…Spotify, Audible, Fabletics, you name it. Some people are very diligent about regularly checking their bank accounts, but others could be incurring these charges for months and not even know it.

Do yourself a favor and set aside a rainy weekend afternoon and go through your bank statements and credit card statements with a fine-tooth comb. Are you being charged for services, goods, or apps that you don’t need or that you rarely use? Cancel them immediately! And while you’re at it, give them a call and request a refund (might be a little ambitious, but worth a shot!).

If you’re willing, take it one step further. Many content streaming services allow for several devices to be logged in at a time. You have Netflix and HBO and your brother has Hulu and Disney+ …SHARE!
